BlockBeats News, April 24 — According to CNN, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, U.S. military officials are working on a new plan to strike Iran’s military capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz when the current ceasefire agreement with Iran breaks down.

Among the various target-type options under consideration, sources say, one particular focus is on a “dynamic strike” targeting Iran’s capabilities around the Strait of Hormuz, the southern Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman, potentially targeting small fast-attack boats, mine-laying ships, and other asymmetric assets.

These assets help Iran effectively block the Strait of Hormuz. Although the U.S. military has struck the Iranian Navy, most of the major targets during the first month of bombing were far from the strait. The new plan calls for more concentrated bombing operations around the strategic waterway.
