An American soldier bets that Maduro will be captured, profiting over $400k
Golden Finance reports that on April 24th, US ABC News, citing sources, reported that US federal authorities arrested a special forces soldier involved in the attempt to arrest Venezuelan President Maduro. The soldier is suspected of profiting over $400k by betting on Maduro’s ouster. Sources said that federal investigators believe that this assault team member placed bets of over $33k on the prediction market Polymarket just hours before President Trump announced the capture of Maduro in January. This series of bets earned over $409k in profit, immediately triggering an internal review of the prediction market and launching a months-long insider trading investigation.
