The blockchain was a bit congested just now, and my transfer was like waiting in line in the mempool: first being stuffed into a bunch of "candidate transactions," with miners/packagers choosing the ones with higher fees to include first, while the lower-fee ones can only wait, until they expire, get replaced, or you can't resist adding a little more fee to push yourself forward.

The most annoying part is watching the page spin endlessly, and starting to imagine "Did it fail?" "Was I stuck in the middle?"… Basically, it's the most emotionally volatile few minutes, leading to impulsive clicks.
This feeling is quite similar to the recent collapse of those blockchain games: when there's congestion, everyone wants to be the first to run, only to realize they're actually the slowest in the liquidity pool.
Anyway, whenever I hit a bottleneck now, I stop first; I'd rather miss out than be the bag holder.
