On the morning of the 2nd, Tokyo Electric Power Company began discharging radioactive-contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean. This marks the first time the company has discharged radioactive-contaminated water in its 2026 fiscal year (from April 2026 to March 2027), and it is also the 19th overall discharge of radioactive-contaminated water.
