Trump: The U.S. Navy will blockade the Strait of Hormuz, intercepting all ships paying tolls to Iran.

ME News report. On April 12 (UTC+8), Trump posted on Truth Social that the meeting went very smoothly, and most of the items reached consensus. But the only truly important issue—nuclear matters—was not resolved. Starting today, the world’s most elite U.S. Navy will begin to blockade all ships attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz. We will ultimately achieve a situation where “all ships can come and go,” but Iran has obstructed this process, citing “there may be mines somewhere,” mines that only they know about. This is extortion on a global scale. Heads of state of every country, especially the leaders of the United States, will never submit to such extortion.

I have instructed the Navy to search for and intercept all ships paying tolls to Iran in international waters. Anyone who pays illegal tolls will not be able to safely pass in the open seas. We will also begin destroying the mines Iran has laid in the strait. Any Iranian who dares to fire at us or at peaceful ships will be blown to pieces! Iran knows better than anyone how to end the crisis that has already destroyed their country. Their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their air defense systems and radar are effectively useless, and Khomeini and most of their “leaders” are dead—all of this stems from their nuclear ambitions. The blockade is about to begin. Other countries will also participate. We will never allow Iran to profit from this illegal extortion. They want money—more importantly, they want nuclear weapons. Furthermore, at the appropriate time, we are fully prepared, and our forces will thoroughly destroy everything Iran has left!
