Recently, I tried out various streaming devices, but honestly, choosing which one to go with can be confusing. If you want to enjoy Netflix or Prime Video on a big screen, it's important to pick a good device.

First thing that caught my eye was Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K MAX. It starts up quickly, and apps run smoothly. It supports 4K, and the picture quality is natural with rich detail. It's also attractive because you can buy it at a reasonable price during sales. The same series, Fire TV Stick 4K Select, seems to use a newer OS, and its price is even lower, but I'm concerned about the lack of long-term support.

Apple TV 4K is really fast. App launching and scrolling are way better than others. However, its high price is a drawback. If smooth operation is your top priority, it’s a strong candidate.

Google’s Google TV Streamer 4K is the successor to Chromecast, and it runs quite smoothly. Its strength is integration with Google services. On the other hand, the older Chromecast with Google TV is slow to start, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it.

If cost is a priority, Dangbei’s dongle is also an option. But it feels a bit sluggish to start up, so you need to consider the balance between cost and performance.

In the end, I think you just have to decide based on your priorities. If you prioritize smoothness, go for Apple TV 4K; for a good balance, the Fire TV series; and if budget is the main concern, other options. Recommendations for streaming devices vary depending on the person, but I think it’s best to check the speed and picture quality before buying.
