This morning (the 7th), the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government held a press conference. Yang Jiaying, Director of the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, stated that employment is the top priority for people’s livelihood. Last year, with joint efforts from all parties, the city added 641,000 new jobs, and the urban surveyed unemployment rate averaged 4.2%. The overall employment situation remained stable and showed signs of improvement. This year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, with a clear upward trend in economic recovery. The favorable factors for stabilizing employment continue to increase. The Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to employment, incorporating “employment promotion” into the Municipal Party Committee’s People-Centered Project, and including “enhancing skills, promoting employment, and helping long-term unemployed youth find re-employment” into the municipal government’s practical projects for the people. This further boosts our confidence to strengthen employment stabilization efforts and consolidate the positive momentum. (Sina Finance)
