Zheng Shanjie: During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, a series of major energy projects with investments exceeding one trillion yuan will be implemented.

On March 6th, at the press conference on the economic theme of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress, Zheng Shanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, long-term planning will be considered, and a number of strategic projects will be implemented. For example, advancing major energy projects such as the downstream hydropower of the Yarlung Zangbo River, the “Shago Desert” new energy base, and offshore wind power bases, each with investment exceeding one trillion yuan. Additionally, major transportation projects like the Three Gorges New Shipping Channel will be promoted, and the “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway main corridors and national highway network will be basically completed.
