Back in the 2000s, claiming your username on a new social platform was basically the only asset millennials could truly call their own. You'd stake your claim before anyone else, and boom—it was yours. Now, in the Web3 era, that same hunger for ownership has evolved. Instead of chasing usernames on centralized platforms that could disappear tomorrow, people are actually acquiring digital assets with real value and control. It's the natural next step for a generation that learned early: if you don't truly own it, it doesn't really belong to you.

Really, from fighting for usernames to fighting for NFTs, our generation just doesn't want to be cut anymore.
Web3 has finally made everyone understand one truth: what belongs to you is truly yours.
You can even see the contract address, which is much more reliable than platform promises.
In the past, if a platform deleted your account, it was gone. Now, what's in your wallet can't be taken away, so you can rest assured.

Alright, finally someone said it—the centralized platform approach is really outdated.

But at the end of the day, it's still about that logic—true ownership is the way to go.

NGL, this really hit me. Back then, fighting for usernames was really like playing a survival game haha

ngl, from grabbing usernames to grabbing NFTs, it's essentially the same ownership anxiety, just wearing a different disguise.
