The conflict between Israel and Palestine has lasted nearly 50 years, with each side firing at each other; the new grudges and old hatreds will not be easily resolved. A ceasefire agreement should be more like a truce, as both sides are running low on supplies after daily exchanges of fire. A few days of rest to replenish stocks, and then continue the fight.
