Just spent way too much time looking into round up savings apps and honestly some of these are pretty clever. Like, the whole idea is basically your spare change from everyday purchases gets automatically tucked away without you thinking about it. Sounds simple but apparently people are actually building real savings this way—we're talking hundreds per month for some users.

The thing that surprised me is how different they all are. Some are pure investing plays like Acorns where your round up savings go straight into ETF portfolios. Others like Chime just handle it as regular banking, and then there's Qoins which is wild because it rounds up your purchases but funnels everything toward paying off debt instead of saving. That's actually genius if you're stuck in the credit card trap.

Then you've got the customizable ones like Qapital where you can literally set how much to round up by—not just to the nearest dollar but way more if you want. And Stash has this Stock-Back card thing where you get stock rewards on purchases, which is another angle entirely.

The catch? Most charge subscription fees, so you gotta make sure your actual round up savings outpace what you're paying monthly. But if you're someone who never remembers to save manually, having money automatically trickle into a goal account is probably worth it. Anyone actually using these or am I overthinking it?
