Just came across something pretty wild. Apparently there's a report making the rounds about the Trump administration quietly getting thousands of Starlink terminals into Iran after the government shut down internet access back in January. We're talking 6,000 units smuggled in to help dissidents stay connected.
Here's where it gets interesting - the U.S. had already purchased close to 7,000 of these terminals, and while Trump was apparently in the loop about the delivery, it's still unclear if he gave the green light himself. The details of how this went down, whether it was secretly coordinated through emails or other channels, haven't been fully disclosed.
Technically, having Starlink gear is illegal in Iran, but that hasn't stopped tens of thousands of Iranians from using it to get around the censorship. Trump has been pretty vocal about supporting the protests over there, even publicly saying help is on the way. Pretty bold move if you ask me.
The White House is staying quiet about the whole thing, which tells you something. Either way, this is a pretty significant geopolitical play - using tech to circumvent state control. Worth keeping an eye on how this develops.
