ByteDance Restructures Lark Unit, Merges Teams into AI, Cloud Divisions

According to an internal memo reported by South China Morning Post on July 30, ByteDance folded parts of its workplace software Lark into AI and cloud teams. Lark's product team will join the Doubao chatbot team led by Zhao Qi, with Lark CEO David Xie Xin reporting to Zhao. Sales, marketing, and customer service staff will move under Volcano Engine president Tan Dai, while development and infrastructure teams will merge into Flow, ByteDance's AI applications division. ByteDance's annualized AI revenue reached US$4 billion.
