Did Truth Terminal founder X stage a series of dramas or did he fall victim to an even bigger scheme? 01928374656574839201
3 minutes, 40 times, $20 million
Yesterday at 9:54, Andy Ayrey, the author of Truth Terminal, posted a picture on X platform with the name and contract of the Token. As the source of the hottest Token GOAT recently, Andy and Truth Terminal are closely followed, and even fragments and words of their key remarks can create a Meme with a market capitalization of tens of millions of dollars.
On the other hand, the style and content of the image are very similar to Andy’s usual content style, and the account attacker did not directly release the Token contract like regular hijackers, so it did not alert most users.
Just 3 minutes after Andy posted the picture, the Token’s market capitalization pumped from $500,000 to $20 million. But then the attacker’s bundled Wallet started dumping heavily, and users also realized that Andy’s account was hacked, causing a price collapse.
Hacker: I’m not acting anymore
After the Token flash crash, the hackers no longer conceal their actions and frequently post various Token links, with the IB Token image pinned to the top. However, due to significant losses suffered by many users on IB, the number of participants has decreased.
After several unsuccessful attempts at scamming with tokens, the account thief posted: ‘Should we introduce untied tokens for the community?’ After being exposed by commenters, he directly said: ‘Thank you for the 2 million yuan you gave me,’ which far exceeds the $600,000 profit disclosed by Lookonchain.
AI New Feature: Account Theft Recognition
At 1 PM, Andy Ayrey’s account posted a message saying: ‘Account privileges have been revoked. A Hacker manipulated my mobile device through social engineering. If I send you a private message, it’s not me. Stay safe.’ The style is very formal, and it seems that the account privileges have indeed been revoked.
However, under the account, Truth Terminal showed a new feature in addition to misspellings and a mixture of Chinese and English""Identifying whether an account has been compromised - Truth Terminal replied “liar” below Andy’s account’s tweet announcing that it had been retracted, verifying the fact that the account was still being compromised.
(Note: For details of the misspelling incident, please refer to ‘How does the misspelling trigger a challenge to AI Meme?’, which once caused a nearly 50% drop in GOAT.)
Self-directing and self-acting, revealing the flaws or a hidden game within the game?
Manually Take Over Truth Terminal
After the original account was stolen, Andy created a new account Constellate #FREEANDY (@ConstellateLabs) and verified the authenticity of the identity by recording a video and forwarding the Truth Terminal account.
Later, ConstellateLabs clarified the ‘new features’ of Truth Terminal: At 2 pm, ConstellateLabs issued a statement that they will manually intervene and control the Truth Terminal account until the issue of the original account being stolen is resolved. (Note: This announcement was made one hour after the Truth Terminal identification account was stolen.)
The new Address is used by the hacker for fundraising
Yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock, in order to ensure the security of the funds, Andy’s new account ConstellateLabs publicly disclosed a new Address and transferred the assets in the original Address. The publicly disclosed Address is as shown in the figure below. Please note the second Address oYYe…uV3K.
At 6:29 this morning, Andy’s hacked account @AndyAyrey posted a presale announcement, selling EVIL Token through a transfer. However, some users later found that the receiving address used by the hacked account and the Truth Terminal address published by the new account were the same address oYYe…uV3K. The presale tweet was then deleted and the victim did not post any further content.
It is reasonable to speculate that this may be an act of mischief by the attacker using Andy’s new Address, but from the worst perspective, it could also be a problem exposed by pasting the wrong Address.
At present, Andy still has not been able to recover the account, and the account thief is still enthusiastic about “pranking”, and more good shows may be on the way. Odaily will continue to follow up and report.
