Analysts: American exceptionalism faces four major threats, and Trump's manufacturing repatriation plan will fail.

According to Mars Finance, Eric Peters, Chief Strategist at One River Asset Management, pointed out that the underlying logic of American exceptionalism is its hegemonic position in global economic politics, but this position is facing four major threats: heavy taxation on capital flows, a policy shift to weaken the technology and healthcare monopolies, the failure of the judiciary to check the government, and a continuous big dump in productivity. Peters believes that the Trump administration’s efforts to bring manufacturing back will fail because vested interest groups will not allow changes to the existing cheap labor market and loose capital regulation.
