A woman was sentenced to 8 years in prison for hiring a hitman to commit attempted murder with BTC.

Golden Finance reported that the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) announced on Friday that a woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison for the failed plot to hire a hitman using BTC. Melody Saether attempted to hire a killer from the Darknet to murder a resident of Alabama. She paid nearly $10,000 in Crypto Assets and attempted to make the murder look like an accident. Authorities found conclusive evidence in her home, leading to her arrest and conviction.
