AIMCo Acquires 1.38 Million Shares of Strategy Stock in Q1, Currently Up by Approximately $69 Million
On May 2, a 13F filing revealed that Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), a major Canadian pension fund, purchased 1.38 million shares of Strategy stock in the first quarter for $172.5 million. The current value of this position is approximately $241 million, indicating an unrealized gain of about $69 million. AIMCo previously held MSTR from 2019 to 2020 and exited that position in September 2020, shortly after the company shifted its strategy towards Bitcoin.
