Mars Finance News: A research report from CITIC Construction Investment said that, according to a report by Taiwan media, driven by a surge in AI computing power demand, the prices of AMD and Intel consumer-grade CPUs rose by 5%–10% in March this year, while server CPU prices increased by 10%–20%.

This round of price hikes is not a short-term fluctuation. Supply chain information indicates that shortages will continue through 2027, and a new round of price adjustments may be seen in the third quarter of 2026.

The report said that AMD, to cope with cost pressures from transitioning to the 2nm process, plans to raise server CPU prices twice in the second and third quarters of 2026, with a total estimated increase of 16%–17%.

Intel has already adjusted PC CPU prices in March and, on April 1, adjusted server CPU prices, helping drive a rebound in gross margin in the second quarter.

Market expectations suggest there is still about 8%–10% room for price increases in the second half of the year.
