❗️$HYPE rally: buybacks are beating ETF expectations.
Forbes contributor Zenon Kapron argues that the recent HYPE move is not being driven by ETF speculation, but by the buyback mechanism.
Hyperliquid has spent more than $1.16 billion in fees buying HYPE through the Assistance Fund, which receives 97% of all platform fees.
Kapron notes that this kind of direct flow can support price more effectively than ETF inflows. But the structure depends heavily on trading volume: if market activity slows, fee revenue drops - and HYPE loses part of its support.

The market is red, which makes sense given the factors we wrote about yesterday. BTC is back below $75K, and the rest of the alt market followed it lower.

The secret behind the $100 million HYPE short is out.
Turns out the whale is not simply shorting the token. The position is being used as a hedge against his 2.1 million HYPE spot bag, worth around $127 million.
After $HYPE printed a new ATH, he started partially unloading the position: around 557K HYPE, worth roughly $33 million, has already been moved to Hyperliquid for sale.
