Raid the Home of Kraken Ex-CEO Powell!
The home of Jesse Powell, the former CEO of Kraken, was raided by the FBI. Electronic devices belonging to Powell were reportedly confiscated. It was reported that the investigation was not related to crypto.
An investigation has been launched against Powell for allegedly hacking and cyber-harassing a nonprofit arts group. According to the news of the New York Times, it was alleged that the contributors of the Verge Center for the Arts, founded by Powell, interfered with their computer accounts by blocking access to their e-mail and other messages. It was stated that the FBI and the California prosecutor's office have been investigating Powell since September. It is also reported that prosecutors have not brought any charges against Powell so far.
Brandon Fox, a lawyer for Powell, former CEO of Kraken, said the investigation had nothing to do with Powell's crypto activities. It was stated that the Kraken exchange also confirmed this situation. Powell reportedly founded the Sacramento-based arts group in 2007.
