Structural Tailwind: Record Shielded Supply and ETF Angle

The Grayscale flows are not happening in isolation. They line up with a broader narrative shift around Zcash’s core privacy features.

Multiple articles highlight that ZEC’s “shielded” supply, which sits in privacy-protecting pools, has reached a record share of circulating supply, around 30 percent, the highest in the project’s history.²
The Orchard pool, which uses Halo 2 zero-knowledge proofs and is the main destination for migrating ZEC, reportedly grew from about 1.92 million ZEC to 4.55 million ZEC over the last year, reinforcing the idea that actual usage of privacy features is increasing, not just price speculation.²
Grayscale has filed to convert the Zcash Trust into an ETF, a step that news coverage frames as another sign of growing institutional interest in privacy assets, even though conversion is not yet approved.²
Earlier analysis pieces also flagged bullish positioning from large holders, with one report noting that the top 100 ZEC addresses increased their holdings by roughly 6.7% over a week while ZEC broke and retested the 300 dollar level.³
The last 25 hours’ move is landing on top of a multi-week structural story: more coins actively using shielded pools, large addresses accumulating, and a potential ETF conversion path. That background keeps ZEC on radars and makes it easier for a sudden trust-flow spike to translate into a visible price jump.
