TRON initiates Proposal No. 106 voting, aiming to adjust the SELFDESTRUCT mechanism to improve TVM compatibility
ME News Update, April 7 (UTC+8), the TRON network Super Representatives (SR) have initiated Proposal No. 106, which has entered the committee voting stage. If the proposal passes the vote, it is expected to take effect at 20:00 on April 10 (Singapore time). The proposal aims to adjust the execution behavior and costs of the SELFDESTRUCT instruction: the contract will only be truly deleted if this instruction is called within the same transaction that creates the contract; in other cases, only the contract’s assets will be transferred, and the contract itself will not be deleted. Additionally, the energy consumption of SELFDESTRUCT will be adjusted from 0 to 5000. If approved, the mechanism will be further aligned with Ethereum, helping to improve TVM compatibility. TRON reminds developers who use SELFDESTRUCT to closely follow the proposal’s progress and prepare for adaptation in advance. If nodes become out of sync, it is recommended to first check whether they have upgraded to v4.8.1. (Source: ChainCatcher)
