These days I'm again debating whether to start on L2 or the mainnet... Basically, it's a tug-of-war between gas fees and user experience. The mainnet is expensive, but it feels more secure, especially when signing "real transfers/real authorizations." I’d rather do fewer transactions than risk slipping up; L2 is cheaper and smoother, great for daily interactions, testing, and completing tasks, but crossing chains back and forth costs time and attention.

My current compromise is: first, run the process on L2 to make sure I’m not clicking blindly, then choose the necessary steps to do the "final version" on the mainnet. By the way, recently there's been a lot of noise about NFT royalties, which is quite similar: creators want income, traders want liquidity and low friction... In the end, everyone just wants to save some costs, but those costs don’t just disappear. Anyway, I’ll honestly keep track of the checklist and avoid paying unnecessary tuition.
