Tennessee has passed legislation to fully ban the installation and operation of cryptocurrency ATMs, becoming the second U.S. state after Indiana to implement a statewide ban; the bill was signed into law on April 13, 2026, and will take effect on July 1. Violations will be considered a misdemeanor, with a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $2,500 fine, and liability will extend to both the equipment operators and the venue providers.
