Two departments: Guide supply and marketing cooperatives to standardize lithium battery recycling for renewable resource recycling enterprises

The General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the General Office of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives issued a notice on further strengthening the construction of the lithium-ion battery recycling system for electric bicycles.
The notice points out that all regions should leverage the role of various business entities such as supply and marketing cooperative enterprises in a three-level recycling system supported by recycling points, transfer stations, and sorting centers, guiding electric bicycle manufacturers, lithium battery producers, and other enterprises to cooperate with recycling and resource regeneration companies of supply and marketing cooperatives.
Based on actual work, through joint construction or entrusted development methods, they should carry out the construction and operation of lithium battery temporary storage points and recycling service outlets.
Encourage all levels of supply and marketing cooperatives to rely on existing recycling networks for regenerated resources, guiding recycling companies of supply and marketing cooperatives to standardize key processes such as lithium battery recycling and storage, and strengthen cooperation with comprehensive utilization enterprises of lithium batteries to ensure standardized and comprehensive utilization of lithium batteries.
Enhance the connection between transfer stations, sorting centers, and comprehensive utilization enterprises, and encourage transfer stations and sorting centers to perform graded and quality-based utilization of regenerated resources, improving the high-value utilization level of regenerated resources.
