Recently, there's been a lot of talk about parallelism and sharding as a narrative, and the chat group is extremely lively. Coincidentally, a major mainstream public chain is about to upgrade/hard fork, and everyone is guessing whether ecosystem projects will migrate, while also following "Will the chain get stuck" and "Will the gas fees explode" as if watching a drama. To put it simply, the bigger the narrative, the more emotional it becomes, and it's easier to forget the most basic thing: where your assets are, and how to exit if something goes wrong.

I'm actually paying attention to very boring details: whether there are upgrade pathways for contracts, whether cross-chain bridges are single points of failure, whether there are queuing mechanisms for withdrawals/redemptions, and most importantly, whether the exit paths are clearly documented. Whether it's parallelism or sharding, no matter how much performance is hyped up, a single permission mistake can still cause issues; anyway, I prefer to earn a little less than to be the last person to realize I can't move my wallet during a "migration or not" vote.
