Just now, I read about a rather interesting development related to the Libra token investigation in Argentina. It turns out that when forensic experts examined the seized devices, they discovered communications between President Milei and Mauricio Novelli, one of the key figures in the launch of this token.
But here’s the interesting part – many messages had been completely deleted. According to reports, experts checked the phones of Novelli, Manuel Terrones Godoy, and Sergio Morales, individuals believed to be involved with Libra. What was the result? Most of their personal conversations and WhatsApp group chats were empty or had been erased entirely. Only a small portion of the content could be recovered, with the rest missing.
What’s most notable is that Novelli also deleted all messages sent to his mother. And you might not know this, but Novelli’s mother was the one who entered the bank branch and retrieved contents from a safety deposit box just one day after Libra was launched. Quite suspicious, isn’t it?
According to the report, although many messages had been erased, security experts still detected signs that some data could potentially be recovered through advanced forensic extraction techniques. However, most of the content remains unrecoverable.
When asked about this, Milei denied any direct responsibility. He argued that those involved with Libra were clearly aware of the risks they were accepting. He even compared it to gambling losses, saying that if you go to a casino and lose money, that’s your problem.
But really, the fact that so many messages were completely deleted raises a lot of questions. This investigation will surely continue, and we’ll see whether any important evidence can be recovered from these devices. Personally, I find the whole situation quite noteworthy because of what might be revealed next.
