Abstract generation in progress

CryptoWorld News reports, citing Cointelegraph, that the crypto company Succinct has launched ZCAM, an iPhone camera application that can encrypt and sign photos and videos during capture to help prove the authenticity of the media. The company says that ZCAM embeds a tamper-proof record that links the media to the capturing device, allowing viewers to verify that the content has not been digitally altered or generated by artificial intelligence. The ZCAM app hashes the original image data and signs it using a key generated in Apple’s Secure Enclave, embedding the signature along with capture metadata and proof into the file, following the Content Authenticity Initiative (C2PA) standards. Succinct says that ZCAM is an early step toward broader adoption of cryptographic provenance tools, which can be used in areas such as journalism, insurance claims, and identity verification to ensure trust in digital media.
