ME News message. On April 7 (UTC+8), there are uncertainties around the confirmation timetable for Kevin Waugh’s nomination to be Chair of the Federal Reserve, because major Republican senators oppose moving forward with his nomination while the current Chair, Powell, is still under investigation. William, Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Policy Committee and President of the New York Fed, said that this uncertainty is not a problem for the Federal Reserve. Earlier this year, the Federal Open Market Committee voted to have Powell serve as Chair of the Policy Committee, and before Waugh is confirmed to take over, Powell may continue to hold the post. Williams said, “We are just focused on doing our own work. There is no issue like continuity within the committee.” (Jin10) (Source: ODAILY)
