Actually, everyone understands that L2s are smooth to use and gas is also cheaper, but when it comes to large amounts or critical operations, I still get nervous and first switch back to the mainnet. To be honest, my current compromise is: for daily small transactions and frequent operations, I abandon L2; the mainnet only handles two things—long-term deposits and "final settlement." The biggest risk when bridging back and forth isn't the transaction fees, but the chance of something going wrong in any link, especially with oracles/pricing feeds. A slow update can wipe out your slippage completely. So I first check which price feed source it uses, how often it updates, and then decide which chain to operate on. Recently, the heated debate over NFT royalties also seems related: you always have to sacrifice something between experience and liquidity... Anyway, I prefer to do fewer transactions rather than risk shortcuts and pitfalls.
