Lately, the data on the chain keeps "lagging," at first I thought it was just my wallet acting up, but then I realized: the balances, pools, TVL, and so on you're seeing aren't directly fed by the chain itself, but are instead slowly being fetched and stored by a bunch of indexers/Subgraphs in the background. Plus, with RPC rate limiting, it's like trying to squeeze into a crowded subway during rush hour—if you can't get in, you have to wait. Especially when a new protocol just gains some popularity, I follow the routing, the page spins for three seconds, and people start questioning their life choices...
What's even more annoying is that lately everyone is watching the unlock calendar, and as soon as the unlock pressure and anxiety kick in, they frantically refresh the data. The more they refresh, the more laggy it gets, which only makes them more anxious. To put it simply, the lag isn't necessarily caused by the chain itself, but could be due to "too many people querying the chain" + "service providers throttling the data flow."
What I’ve learned isn’t a trick, but that: the on-chain world also has "queuing" and "congestion." When you're in a hurry, admit you're FOMOing, and don't mistake latency for a signal.
