The 29th Meeting of the China-Korea Economic and Trade Joint Committee Held in Beijing
On April 20, Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce, and Kim Jinwoe, Deputy Foreign Minister of South Korea, jointly chaired the 29th meeting of the China-Korea Economic and Trade Joint Committee in Beijing. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on deepening China-Korea economic and trade relations, strengthening regional and multilateral cooperation, and other matters. Yan Dong said that the leaders of both countries have provided strategic guidance for deepening the China-Korea strategic cooperative partnership, and that China-Korea economic and trade cooperation faces more development opportunities. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Korean side to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, accelerate the advancement of the second-phase negotiations on the China-Korea Free Trade Agreement, draft the China-Korea Economic and Trade Cooperation Joint Plan (2026–2030), expand cooperation in bilateral trade and investment areas, enhance communication and coordination under regional and multilateral frameworks such as the World Trade Organization and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and promote China-Korea economic and trade cooperation to reach a new level.
Kim Jinwoe said that South Korea and China are important economic and trade cooperation partners for each other. The Korean side is willing to work with the Chinese side to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, continue to deepen economic and trade cooperation across various fields under both bilateral and multilateral channels, and maintain stable and smooth operation of industrial and supply chains.
