Just noticed the KOSPI index had quite a rough open that Monday back in April. South Korea's market was down 127 points when the bell rang, hitting around 5,731 levels. That's a solid 2.17% drop right there. Over in Japan, the Nikkei wasn't doing much better either, off by about 0.98% at the open. Looks like it was one of those mornings where regional Asian markets were all feeling the pressure. The KOSPI index weakness that day seemed to be part of a broader selloff happening across the region. Definitely the kind of market signal you'd want to keep an eye on if you're tracking these indices.
