On April 20th local time, the European Union and the United Nations released an assessment report completed in collaboration with the World Bank, which states that after this round of the Israel-Palestine conflict, Gaza will need $71.4 billion for recovery and reconstruction over the next decade.
Among them, $26.3 billion will be needed within the first 18 months alone to restore basic services, rebuild critical infrastructure, and support economic recovery.
The report points out that the most severely affected areas in Gaza include housing, health, education, commerce, and agriculture.
Over 371k housing units have been destroyed or damaged, more than 50% of hospitals are unable to operate normally, and almost all schools have been destroyed or damaged.
Survey results show that the Gaza economy has shrunk by 84%. (CCTV News)
