Trump announces investigation into federal employees using confidential information to place bets in prediction markets
ChainCatcher News, according to Bloomberg, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he will investigate federal employees’ betting activities on event betting platforms, concerned that some may be profiting from government confidential information in prediction markets.
Previously, federal authorities arrested a soldier involved in the operation to capture Venezuelan leader Maduro, who had successfully bet that Maduro would be ousted, making a profit of about $400k.
