On April 24, local time Thursday, when asked whether he would use nuclear weapons against Iran, U.S. President Trump stated that it was a foolish question and that he would not use nuclear weapons against Iran, adding, “Without nuclear weapons, I have already defeated them decisively.” Speaking in the Oval Office, he said, “No one should ever be allowed to use nuclear weapons.” Trump had previously threatened Iran, stating that unless an agreement was reached, “the entire civilization would perish tonight and would never recover.” However, just before the deadline set by Trump, he announced an extension of the ceasefire.
