BlockBeats News, April 24 — U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the current ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon will be extended for three weeks, aiming to buy time for reaching a long-term agreement and clearing key obstacles for the U.S. to push for an end to conflicts related to Iran.

Trump stated he will invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to visit the U.S. soon, and said the U.S. will cooperate with Lebanon to address security challenges brought by Hezbollah, but did not disclose specific measures.

Regarding Iran, Trump said Tehran “hopes to reach an agreement but is internally chaotic,” emphasizing he is not in a rush to negotiate, but if Iran refuses to reach an agreement, “the conflict will be ended through military means.” At the same time, he made it clear he would not use nuclear weapons, believing conventional military power already has overwhelming advantage.

Additionally, Trump pointed out that during the previous ceasefire, Iran may have “slightly replenished its arms,” but the U.S. has the capability to destroy them quickly. He reiterated his hope to push for a “lasting” agreement rather than rushing to reach a short-term arrangement.
