Iran Central Bank: First Strait of Hormuz Toll Collected in 'Cash Foreign Exchange'

On April 24, the Central Bank of Iran confirmed that the first toll collected from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz has been recorded in ‘cash foreign exchange’. Previously, there were reports that Iran was collecting the toll in the form of ‘cryptocurrency’. Earlier that day, the Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Parliament, Haji Babaei, stated that Iran has received the first toll from the Strait of Hormuz and it has been deposited into the central bank’s account.
