Pyth: The Pythnet application chain will be retired and OIS rewards will be discontinued later in 2026
ME News Report, April 23 (UTC+8), Pyth Network announced that the Pythnet application chain will officially retire later in 2026 based on the approved OP-PIP-100 proposal, while the OP-PIP-103 proposal sets the Oracle Integrity Staking (OIS) reward issuance rate parameter to 0, marking the formal termination of the OIS reward mechanism that started at the end of 2024 and attracted approximately 1 billion PYTH staked. Pyth Network stated that the OIS staking and penalty mechanisms remain effective, and current stakers can unstake and withdraw at any time. The future network will focus on infrastructure such as Lazer, Pyth Pro, and data markets, with the PYTH reserve having purchased about 12 million PYTH on the open market since its inception.
