I am increasingly feeling that grid/DCA is more like buying myself a good night's sleep. It's not that going all-in is impossible, but that kind of urgency is more than I can handle… If I really had to choose, it depends on whether you can accept waking up in the middle of the night and immediately grabbing your phone.
The reason is pretty straightforward: grid/DCA plans for the possibility that “I might be wrong,” allowing for slower losses and less emotional fluctuation; going all-in relies on judgment + luck, and a single wrong judgment makes it very hard to recover. To put it plainly, it tests your mental resilience more.
Recently, everyone has been talking about the selling pressure from staking unlocks and token unlock calendars, but I actually dare not go all-in anymore. The uncertainty of timing is just too annoying. I’d rather earn a little less than get pierced by a single needle. Anyway, for someone like me who’s conservative, being able to sleep peacefully is better than anything else.
