Just now, I got itchy again and wanted to chase the rally. Before clicking confirm, I forced myself to stop for ten seconds: Is this really “I received new information,” or is it “FOMO in the group pushing me to add to my position”? To put it simply, if the information can be reflected on the blockchain with actions and a timeline (who’s buying, where the funds are coming from, whether it’s sustained), then emotions will only cause me to treat my positions as ammunition and shoot randomly.
I used to be quite obsessive, always thinking “I only look at on-chain data,” but then I encountered sudden tax hikes or tightening/loosening of compliance in certain regions, and my deposit and withdrawal expectations changed. Before the on-chain data could even reflect this, I was already being carried away by emotions… Later, I changed my approach: on-chain is a map, but emotions are the weather forecast; I need to watch both. Now, when I want to chase, I first write down: Can I clearly explain the reason for this trade in tomorrow’s review? If I can’t, I cut it in half, and forget it.
