U.S. Navy Admiral states that Bitcoin PoW technology can increase the cost of network attacks and support national security strategies
Mars Finance News, according to Cointelegraph, U.S. Navy Admiral Samuel Paparo stated at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing that Bitcoin is a “valuable computer science tool,” with proof-of-work technology playing an important role in cybersecurity, increasing attackers’ costs, and being used to protect data, information, and command signals, helping to support U.S. national security interests. Paparo pointed out, “Beyond the economic level, it has very important computer science application value in cybersecurity.” Previously, U.S. Space Force member Jason Lowery also expressed similar views in 2023.
