The Speakers of Japan's House of Representatives and House of Councillors Offer Offerings to Yasukuni Shrine

On the 21st, the presiding officers of Japan’s House of Representatives and House of Councillors offered an offering called “Shinsaki” at Yasukuni Shrine, which enshrines Class-A war criminals from World War II. Earlier that day, Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Yoshimura also offered an offering called “Shinsaki” at Yasukuni Shrine in her capacity as “Prime Minister.” Located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, Yasukuni Shrine enshrines 14 Class-A war criminals from World War II, including Hideki Tojo. For a long time, some Japanese politicians and members of the National Diet have insisted on visiting Yasukuni Shrine, which has drawn strong opposition from many peace-loving people in Japan and from the international community.(CCTV News)
