Our country's first 550-megawatt F-class gas turbine unit will be put into operation and generate electricity today.

Today (the 21st), China’s first 550 MW F-class gas turbine unit — Huadian Chongqing Tongnan Power Plant Unit 1 — successfully completed 168 hours of full-load trial operation and is about to officially start power generation. This marks a new breakthrough in China’s application of large-capacity, high-efficiency clean energy equipment. The project can operate in island mode and quickly restore power supply in the event of sudden grid faults. At the same time, each unit is equipped with two outgoing transmission lines, so that even if one line fails, full-load stable power generation can still be maintained, greatly enhancing the reliability of power transmission and energy supply security.
