Odaily Planet Daily News: During the Iran war, Trump paused a controversial maritime law, the Jones Act, which has made oil transportation within the United States more convenient—and now he wants to maintain this status. The law, known as the Jones Act, is a 1920 law that increases shipping costs between U.S. ports, requiring cargo to be transported by ships flying the American flag.

To address the rising fuel prices caused by the Iran conflict, Trump issued a 60-day waiver of the law on March 18 to simplify oil transportation. According to data provided by the White House, since then, 40 oil tankers have been able to transport oil between U.S. ports from California to Texas, Florida, and Alaska, increasing the actual fleet size by 70%, thereby helping to lower costs.
