The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology responds to the rising memory prices, stating that multiple measures will be taken to ensure the stability of the supply chain and industrial chain.

On April 21, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the development of industry and information technology in the first quarter of 2026. Xie Cun, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and director of the Department of Information and Communication Development, stated that recent increases in memory chip prices have led to adjustments in mobile terminal product prices, attracting widespread attention from all sectors. In response to this issue, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will take multiple measures to support the development of the memory industry and ensure the stability of the industrial and supply chains. On one hand, it will enhance supply capacity, promote supply and demand matching, encourage both domestic and foreign investment to increase investment, improve output capacity, and support terminal companies to strengthen interaction and cooperation with memory chip companies, expanding diversified supply channels. On the other hand, it will use various means to maintain market order, guide memory chip companies to strengthen channel management, and cooperate with relevant departments to crack down on market-disrupting behaviors in accordance with the law.
