Apple’s new CEO faces a test of retaining talent: increasing pressure as executives and engineers leave
Odaily Planet Daily News: Apple’s next CEO, John Ternus, faces a major challenge as he takes office: retaining top talent during a historic period of personnel changes. After several years of relative calm, Apple has recently experienced a wave of departures, including both senior executives and grassroots engineers. Ternus, who will succeed Tim Cook as CEO in September, is tasked with stabilizing the workforce.
Late last year, Johnny Srouji, the highly acclaimed head of the chip business, told Cook that he was seriously considering leaving Apple. Apple recently succeeded in retaining him by offering Srouji a new compensation package and a broader role—becoming the company’s first Chief Hardware Officer. Ternus will need to address succession issues and other executive departures, including Mike Rockwell and several long-term leaders who are nearing retirement. (Jin10)
