According to Bits Media, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree to establish a special economic zone called Besqala Mining Valley within the Republic of Karakalpakstan, dedicated to cryptocurrency mining. Under the policy, miners within this zone will enjoy tax exemption benefits, which will last until January 1, 2035. Companies operating there will be permitted to access a unified energy system that uses renewable energy and hydrogen power; cryptocurrencies produced within the zone can be freely traded on domestic and overseas platforms. Currently, Uzbekistan enforces strict entry regulations for Bitcoin mining and trading, limited to corporate entities operating through licensed service providers authorized by the state, and P2P trading is prohibited.
