Pakistani Prime Minister Advocates for Continued US-Iran Negotiations

On April 22, following U.S. President Trump’s announcement to extend the ceasefire with Iran while maintaining sanctions, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif posted on social media early today, thanking Trump for accepting Pakistan’s request to prolong the ceasefire to facilitate ongoing mediation efforts. In his post, Sharif stated, ‘Based on mutual trust and confidence, Pakistan will continue to make sincere efforts to resolve the conflict through negotiations. I sincerely hope that both sides can maintain the ceasefire and reach a comprehensive peace agreement during the second round of talks scheduled to be held in Islamabad, to permanently end this conflict.’ (CCTV International News)
