ME News Report, April 13 (UTC+8), the U.S. Central Command announced that U.S. Central Command forces will begin implementing a maritime blockade of all shipping entering and exiting Iranian ports at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on April 13 (today at 10 p.m. Beijing time).
This blockade will be enforced equally on all ships from all countries entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas (including all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman).
The Central Command forces will not impede the freedom of navigation for ships traveling between the Strait of Hormuz and non-Iranian ports.
Before the blockade begins, more information will be provided through official notices to commercial mariners.
All mariners are advised to monitor “Maritime Notices” broadcasts and contact U.S. Navy forces via Bridge-to-Bridge Channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz entrance areas.
